Heisenberg models and a particular isotropic model.

چکیده
The Heisenberg model, a quantum mechanical analogue of the Ising model, has a large ground state degeneracy, due to the symmetry generated by the total spin. This symmetry is also responsible for degeneracies in the rest of the spectrum. We discuss the global structure of the spectrum of Heisenberg models with arbitrary couplings, using group theoretical methods. The Hilbert space breaks up in blocks characterized by the quantum numbers of the total spin, S and M, and each block is shown to constitute the representation space of an explicitly given irreducible representation of the symmetric group S N , consisting of permutations of the N spins in the system. In the second part of the paper we consider, as a concrete application, the model where each spin is coupled to all the other spins with equal strength. Its partition function is written as a single integral, elucidating its N-dependence. This provides a useful framework for studying finite size effects. We give explicit results for the heat capacity, revealing interesting behavior just around the phase transition.

Thermal negativity in a two qubit XXX and XX spin chain model in an external magnetic field
In this paper we studied the thermal negativity in a two-qubit XX spin ½ chain model and XXX spin1/2 chain model(isotropic Heisenberg model)spin-1/2 chain subjected to an external magnetic field inz direction. We calculate analytical relation for the thermal negativity for two qubit XX and XXX spinchain models in the external magnetic field. Effects of the magnetic field and temperature on then...
متن کاملModels for the Irreducible Representation of a Heisenberg Group
In its most general formulation a quantum kinematical system is described by a Heisenberg group; the ”configuration space” in this case corresponds to a maximal isotropic subgroup. We study irreducible models for Heisenberg groups based on compact maximal isotropic subgroups. It is shown that if the Heisenberg group is 2-regular, but the subgroup is not, the ”vacuum sector” of the irreducible r...
متن کاملRenormalization Group Studies of Antiferromagnetic Chains I . * Nearest - Neighbor Interactions
The SLAC real-space renormalization group method is used to study one-dimensional antiferromagnetic chains at zero temperature. Calculations using three-site blocks (for the Heisenberg-Ising model) and two-site blocks (for the isotropic Heisenberg model) are compared with exact results. In connection with the two-site calculation a duality transformation is introduced under which the isotropic ...

We present a new method for rigorously proving the existence of phase transitions. In particular, we prove that phase transitions occur in (Φ'Φ)ϊ quantum field theories and classical, isotropic Heisenberg models in 3 or more dimensions. The central element of the proof is that for fixed ferromagnetic nearest neighbor coupling, the absolutely continuous part of the two point function in k space ...

In this paper, a system with spin S=3/2 with general isotropic nearest neighbor exchange within a mean field approximation possess is discnssed. We derive equations describing non-Heisenberg isotropic model using coherent states of SU(4) group in real parameters and then obtain dispersion equations of spin wave of dipole and quadrupole branches for a small linear excitation from the ground state.
